WHITE GINGER BUBBLECUT DATE:1961
Here's a Pretty Pink Lipped Beauty for You!!! The White Ginger was produced in 1961 as a Specialty Bubblecut not unlike the Brownette Bubblecut. These dolls were differentiated from Platinum Bubblecuts from the same year due to the stable pink lip paint mix which doesn't oxidize over time like the Platinum Dolls. This Beauty's Hair is in the Original Factory Set and has some typically found oxidation but not Brassy like most found. What's Super Special about this Doll is her All Original Factory Face Paint that is Incredibly Minty Mint except for 2 tiny edges wear specks on the doll's left lash ridge,Her Medium Brown Brows are absolutely perfect, the Mega Amounts of Smokey Shadow,Utterly Amazing,Perfect Green/Blue Eyeliner and Deep Blue Eyes,Not to Mention her Crowning Jewel,Full Minty Mint Bubblegum Pink Lips! Wow!! Her complexion is Perfect and she has no green ear, there is a tiny micro shadow spot on her left jaw line but it's virtually impossible to see and doesn't show up in the left side blow up pic.Her Barbie Only Body is in Near Mint Condition except for a few light surface torso scratches and a tiny muted spot on the back of her upper left thigh,The arms have darkened slightly. She retains almost 100% of her Factory Fingernail and Toe Paint.Overall in my opinion a Very Special and Very Beautiful Doll!!! 225.00.
Here's a paragraph from Chris Varaste's Book The Face of the American Dream with his permission. The star of the show! Introduced in 1961 with a "White Ginger"label on her box, this Bubble Cut was an instant hit,She is probably even more desirable today. What's in a name?Everything!White Ginger conjures up cool glamour,a subliminal association with sparkling soda on ice,It entices you, makes you thirsty, and significantly, makes you want to possess it.Buy her and you can own a miniature blonde goddess or movie star, like Grace Kelly or Kim Novak. While other doll's that year had a simple hair color stamped on their boxes blonde, brunette, etc this doll had the distinction of having a very exotic name!
